Customers will want to upgrade to a DED4 Dedicated Server when they need to be on a completely isolated environment form any other customers, want complete control of the server they’re on, or need high capacity SSD drives (NVMe) or more than 32 GB of RAM.

DED4 is a bare metal server that offers Server Root Access + Dedicated Resources + and a completely Isolated Environment from other customers. With root access, you can make technical changes that would not be allowed on a shared, VPS or Business hosting plan. You get the most advanced performance, control and flexibility usually reserved for our customers.

On DED4, you’re completely isolated from any/all other customers so you will not be impacted by anyone else.

Our license is limited to 2 connections. If additional connections are required at one time, you will need to purchase a CAL (Client Access License) pack from Microsoft and apply it to your server. One remote desktop connection can be opened at a time. Refer to Microsoft’s website directly for further details.

Nydus refers to a pair of agent applications (nydus-ex and nydus-ex-api) running on your server that communicate with the server dashboard, providing resource metrics and performing server operations you’ve requested. The agent listens on port 2224.

Storage has seen a bottle neck in performance, and the introduction of SSDs helped performance greatly. NVMe SSD (vs older SATA SSD) is the newest in storage that allows the drives to act more like the fast memory, rather than the hard disks they imitate. Bottom line: NVMe is fast. Really fast.

A ‘bare-metal server’ is a computer server that is a ‘single-tenant physical server’. They are not shared between customers. Each server may run any amount of work for the customer, or may have multiple simultaneous users, but they are dedicated entirely to the customer. Users can customize the hardware to their unique workload needs and do not incur the overhead of a virtualization platform, so the overall speed and responsiveness of the solution will be much better.

A “thread” is a task that the CPU is processing. Example: “2 CPU / 4 Threads” means the server can process 4 tasks per CPU which equates to a max of 8 threads (routines/tasks). (2 CPU x 4 threads =8 Threads)
